Character Axis
Attributes
Ten fields describe body, mind, instinct, and presence in Leruth.
Attributes determine how good a character is in a specific aspect, but they do not dictate appearance. Feel free to have a hulking brute with 1 Strength if you want.

Quick read
Raw physical capacity and bodily impact.
Description
This attribute measures a character's raw physical power. It is used in physical attacks with bare hands or natural weapons such as claws and spikes. It also measures how strong someone is in tests involving throwing or lifting weight. This attribute has no direct influence on appearance: you can be a skinny fighter with 8 Strength, or a massive brute with 5 Strength. Still, high levels of Strength can annihilate enemies in only a few blows.
Quick read
Vigor, resilience, and bodily endurance.
Description
It determines the character's vigor, health, and physical endurance. It is used for defensive reactions and to calculate some damage reduction. It also applies to any resistance test involving physical capabilities, such as holding one's breath, resisting poison, or enduring bodily wear.
Quick read
Vital breath, magic, and supernatural pressure.
Description
The breath of life in Leruth. The driving force of the entire planet that rests within every living being. Ether can be used for countless things, and most of the time it is used in combination with other attributes. It is the attribute used to measure magical manipulation for Leruthians who fight through pure magic, though it does not always have to be the one in play.
Quick read
Manual precision, weapon mastery, and fine control.
Description
This attribute is used to determine how well the character handles weapons, whether swords, bows, daggers, spears, axes, and so on, including throwing those items accurately. It is also used in tests that involve precision in general. It is not about strength or agility, but about manual skill.
Quick read
Speed, flexibility, and evasion.
Description
It determines a character's speed and flexibility. A player with high Agility balances better, runs faster, uses their body in more flexible ways, and so on. It is the attribute rolled for evasive reactions.
Quick read
Obfuscation, camouflage, and surprise strikes.
Description
Used for obfuscation and camouflage, Stealth is the favorite attribute of thieves and rogues. It is the ability to pass unnoticed, hide in the shadows, or prepare a surprise attack. A stealthy character can catch an enemy off guard, denying the target any reaction. Even so, they still have to deal with the opponent's Perception.
Quick read
Environmental reading, senses, and anticipation.
Description
It is the counterpoint to Stealth. A character with high Perception hears, sees, and smells everything around them more clearly. It is that uncanny ability to notice a knife thrown in the dark by an experienced rogue. It is also the natural attribute used against stealth attack tests. A perceptive character is rarely caught by surprise.
Quick read
Planning, linking clues, and strategic reading.
Description
It defines a character's mental capacity and how easily they connect information quickly and efficiently to create a plan. In some situations, it can also be used to unlock additional clues about the consequences of decisions throughout the RPG.
Quick read
Willpower, mental resilience, and persistence.
Description
This attribute is like a burning will inside the character. It is their indomitable spirit, the urge to keep going. Also called willpower, Determination is used in some very specific resistance tests, such as fear, pain, trauma caused by sorcery, or escaping illusions. It is also used in situations where Charisma does not apply to speeches.
Quick read
Presence, persuasion, and personal magnetism.
Description
This attribute defines how well a character can captivate another. It covers lying, deceiving someone, or persuading them to gain information or favors. At low levels, it is simply being likable. At higher levels, Charisma starts to blur with sorcery itself.
