World of Leruth

What is known today is only a fraction of what the world has actually been.

Among Leruth's countless eras, someone once drew a map of the known world. No one knows who that person was, nor whether it was truly the work of one hand or many. What remains is a partial portrait of the territories that still shape the present.

At least, that's what Ikki the cartographer remembers.

☉
Region

Western Heart

Metropolises, deserts, walls, and cities living between trade and ruin.
☉

The Western Heart holds some of Leruth's best-known regions. It is home to Tesarion, the great western metropolis, and Meruga, the desert kingdom. Between those poles lie trading cities, rural villages, libraries, temples, and places whose fame exceeds what is truly known about them.

Locations

Tesarion

The metropolis of the Western Heart. It is known as one of the world's great centers, but it remains sparsely described in current sources.

Current note

Western metropolis. Ruled by the Valassar family and renowned for the great White Roses University of Tesarion. It shares a direct relationship with the Temple of Eiden: protective military power in exchange for ancestral knowledge. The city is especially known for the quality of its alchemical items and blacksmithing, rivaling the prowess of the Artificers of Hogarion on the other continent.

Ahamura

A medium-sized city in the north of the continent. It is not ruled by a king, but by the master of the local guild. Ahamura lives through farms, trade, and routes connecting it to the neighboring metropolis.

Current note

It is divided into four zones: the rural and forested south, the noble residential north, the scholarly west, and the commercial east. At the center stood the Solar Blade guild, responsible for registering adventurers and distributing missions.

Woodpick

A small pastoral village, almost an extension of Ahamura, destroyed by a disaster tied to the emergence of a dungeon and a Mark.

Current note

It was the starting point of 'Destinos Entrelaçados', the first book in Leruth's official saga.

Yerdan

A quiet village hiding an ancient secret tied to a curse. Many bardic tales about Leruth's cursed beings begin here.

Cherryfield

The opposite of Yerdan. A village built for visitors, with taverns, brothels, games, competitions, and battles treated as entertainment.

Temple of Eiden

The greatest center of knowledge on the continent.

Current note

The greatest center of ancestral knowledge in the world. Those who work within the Temple also live there, dedicating their entire lives to books and rituals. They are called Eidians, perhaps the closest thing Leruth has to monks. The corridors of the great library move with a will of their own, reorganizing the books from time to time through the ancestral ether that dwells within the place. Many believe that Eiden is a forgotten god of Leruth, and even today there are Eidians devoted to uncovering more truths about its history. Beneath the Temple lies an organization known as the Draconata Society — a mysterious order primarily responsible for safeguarding Leruth’s ancestral archives.

Tower of Ametooth

The tower with perhaps the greatest concentration of Chaos in the world. An ancient structure dating back to the era of the Great War. Legends say that Luna herself created the tower alongside the Temple of Eiden when everything came to an end. All dungeons in Leruth are born from it, and it is where the Djinn reside when they are not guarding relics that have escaped into the world. Though adventurers claim to know much about the place, one detail remains certain: upon approaching the Tower, no entrance or exit can be seen.

Current note

Look at the stars when you are inside a dungeon.

Meruga

The desert kingdom and one of the three greatest cities in the world. Homeland of the desert elves, surrounded by outer and inner walls to contain invaders and desert creatures.

Current note

It is ruled by Uther Olaref and Atrax Vonturin, leaders whose interests are currently in conflict.

Avalon

An underground city of the moon elves, always bathed in light descending through the roots of trees.

Current note

According to tradition, it was there that the lesser gods hid this race for a future purpose.

MontVale

A village inside Meruga's outer walls, famous for its annual Dragon Festival, also called the Festival of La Sangria by some.

Idrish

A port village bordering on a city, considered the smartest way to reach Slother from the desert. It mixes desert elves, traders, and people of other races arriving through the harbor.

✶
Region

Eastern Heart

Technology, libraries, pirates, monsters, and villages preserved by ancient traditions.
✶

The Eastern Heart mixes technological development, centers of knowledge, and territories marked by secrets or violence. It is home to Hogarion, the greatest city in the world, Slother, land of pirates, and Brektel, a region surrounded by monstrous rumors.

Locations

Hogarion

The greatest city in the world, even more developed than Tesarion. Its progress rests on ether crystal technology and the joint work of elves and dwarves.

Current note

Its king, Nákias, is remembered as a figure of peace, loyalty, and humility.

Ishtar

A city once ruled by the so-called Mad King. Something in its history brought that reign down, but the details are still being explored.

Current note

The region is being expanded in 'Crônicas de Leruth: a ascensão do rei elfo'.

Florefield

A location cited on the known map, but still lacking a consistent description in current sources.

Imurin

A great library functioning almost as an extension of Hogarion. Guarded by elves, it is the second greatest center of knowledge in the world.

Slother

Land of pirates. It has no clearly defined leader, and it remains a mystery what keeps the city from being overrun by invasion.

Brektel

The land of monsters, marked on the map by a dragon. From there came an ancient assault against Ishtar, led by tribes of elves and dwarves living in the region.

Current note

Rumors say that angels, demons, and every kind of creature also live there.

Fairagoh

A city covered in snow for most of the year. Around mid-July, it hosts a festival known as the Dream of the Aurora, where — as the name suggests — the Aurora Borealis can be witnessed in spectacular fashion for several nights in a row. It is a peaceful place, inhabited mainly by warriors and fur traders.

Garamur

A village without kings, political leaders, or mayors. Its spiritual reference is the Shaolin, appointed by the temple council whenever the previous one dies.

Current note

It is a circular community, ringed by wood and watchtowers, marked by ancient customs such as the Fall of the Sun festival and by belief in small Djinn dwelling in the surrounding mountains.

???

There are still gaps in the known map. Not everything that exists in Leruth has been named or clearly described.

❁
Region

Isles of Aezuma

Bestial tribes, recent discovery, and an ether transmission tree.
❁

North of the Western Heart lie the Isles of Aezuma, an insular cluster recently discovered by Parallax. The Bestials are concentrated there, beings half human and half beast, tied to the local fauna and flora.

The civilization of the islands is divided into tribes. It is also known that Arabrab, Parallax's ether transmission tree, comes from this territory.

Locations

Aezuma

Natural habitat of the Bestials and one of the most important recent discoveries for modern knowledge of Leruth.

Arabrab

An ether transmission tree associated with Parallax and originating from the islands.
